Minecraft Hardcore was a series where PBG and six others played through Minecraft on Hardcore mode to attempt to defeat the Wither. The six other members were JonTron, Shane (from DidYouKnowGaming), SmoothMcGroove, ProJared, Dean and McJones.

After looking strong for a long time, a series of mistakes in the Nether leave Shane and Smooth on their own. Shane is then killed by a Wither Skeleton who sneaked up behind him, and not long later, Smooth suffers the same fate by the same Wither Skeleton, who is wearing Shane's armor.
